Founded in 1957, RIS is one of Thailand’s longest-running international schools and was among the first in Asia to earn full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In 1992, the school relocated from Soi Ruamrudee in downtown Bangkok to its current home in Minburi. “Ruamrudee,” which means “union of hearts” in Thai, reflects the school’s Catholic philosophy of inclusivity and social responsibility. RIS offers a college-preparatory, modified American curriculum that combines academic excellence with personalized care, preparing students for success in rigorous IB and AP programs. With specialized English Language Development and Learning Support programs, RIS fosters a nurturing and diverse community. For nearly 7 decades, the RIS community has thrived as a global family, where teachers celebrate their students’ achievements, and alumni treasure lifelong memories of their time at the school.
