Are you planning on ringing in the New Year with the entire family? We know that most parties are focused on adults-only (for obvious reasons). However there is also a great selection of ways you can celebrate with your kids! For parents with young kids, the big question for New Year’s Eve is always “Do we let the little ones sleep, or do we wake them?” More often than not kids struggle to stay up until midnight but if you do want to take your kids out with you or are here on holiday and have no choice, we have some suggestions for you.
There are a few family-orientated options such as Asiatique by the riverside, which has now become one of the most popular spots for the countdown. The night market will be very busy and many of the restaurants will have special menus. As well as stand-alone restaurants all of the 5 Star hotels will have child-friendly buffets but be aware the rooftop bars will not allow children under 16 whatsoever and under 21’s only until 9 pm so its worth checking and deciding ahead of booking.
If you prefer to stay in the center of Bangkok, one of the biggest countdown events happens in front of Central World square. A street countdown happens every year outside the main shopping mall area and you will find many families gather here from early evening to enjoy the fireworks and live entertainment. The area is very family-friendly with many food stalls and children’s activities to keep them entertained or at least awake!
We’ve created a listing of all family friendly New Years events happening across the city from low-key family friendly venues, to family friendly pubs and some of the larger more well know hotels all who offer family friendly menus and welcome kids on New Year’s Eve (And we update this list everyday!) So, what are you waiting for…
