Whether you’re in Bangkok for a short period of time or living here with kids, Bangkok really is a one-stop shop of fun filled activities for the whole family. Here we have compiled a list of our BKK Kids community members’ most popular places and we’ve included something for everyone. From learning to surf, a water park on top of a shopping center to discovering the back streets of Bangkok on family friendly bike tours.

1.KidZania

KidZania is an interactive learning playground for children ages 1-14 years based on the 6th floor of Siam Paragon shopping center.

With 28 facilities all over the globe, KidZania receives more than 9 million visitors yearly in 21 countries, with more sites currently under development. This is still, by far the most popular place for kids to visit, weather your in town on a short visit or hosting a birthday party with school friends living in Bangkok.

The vast playground area is designed around the theme of a small city that allows children to have fun whilst learning through realistic role-playing. Kids can independently explore over 100 exciting careers from being a professional chef at McDonalds to learning how to be a fireman or a footballer.

2. Art in Paradise

Art in Paradise is the first 3D interactive trick-eye arts museum in Bangkok. It is a permanent exhibition and all the art pieces are hand painted and 3 dimensional. Each exhibit allows you to interact with the piece and capture pictures that enable you to immerse yourself into the painting by using your imagination. With the use of their own media app, you can even become part of a moving piece of art and create your own videos.

With 3 locations in Thailand, Bangkok, Pattaya and Chiangmai, all with uniquely different paintings and media this is definitely a favorite place for family fun.

3.BOUNCE Thailand ( The EmQuartier)

BOUNCE is Bangkok’s Largest Indoor Urban Playground comprising a massive indoor trampoline park for all ages located at The EmQuartier . Their mission is to inspire movement via 2,400 square meters of interconnected trampolines, padding, and airbags. There are various adventure features, The Wall, Slam Dunk, Big Bag and a Free-Jump Arena. They also offer Coaching Programs and Trampoline Classes, such as Flight Academy, KinderGym, and Tramp Camp.

4. Flow House Bangkok

Family fun in an outside artificially generated static wave pool where kids can practise their surfing style. Various levels of simulated waves test your surfing skills or learn to surf and balance for the first time with their qualified instructors. Definitely a good way to beat the heat and have some family fun.

5. Playmondo children’s amusement center

At Playmondo children up to age 13 (min height 75cm up) can explore 4 different play zones inspired by various natural landscapes. Kids can discover the desert zone, ocean zone, volcano zone and the forest zone, each uniquely equipped with interact play equipment, slides, ball pits and soft play areas. Each area encourages kids to use their creativity and various types of movement, jumping, crawling through tunnels, stepping, dancing and playing in a fun filled environment.

The two branches at Central World and Central East Ville also offer a space themed laser tag experience. Boasting the most advanced laser tag equipment, touch screens and LED beam laser lights. Here you can zap your opponents with customisable equipment while the phaser screens and LED vest colours interact and notify you as you advance a level or collect special rewards!

6. Easy Karts Go-Karting Center

EasyKart have 3 locations: Bangkok, Pattaya and Koh Samui. The track in Bangkok is inside and air conditioned which makes a huge difference and is very convenient for families with younger kids. If you are looking for a fun activity this is definitely worth checking out. They have special karts for children (120cc) and larger (160cc) for adults and a viewing area if you prefer to just let the kids have fun while you relax and watch the family on the racing track. There is a bar, pool and fuse-ball tables to keep the kids amused and plenty of qualified safety experts on hand at all times.

7. SuperPark Thailand

SuperPark is the very latest adventure area to hit Bangkok and since its opening in November 2019 has already proven to be very popular with kids of all ages. You can choose your own adventure inside an air conditioned 40,000 square feet play area hosting a huge variety of activities to get you moving! Activities include an iwall, a ninja track, pedal car track, super climb obstacle wall, zip lines, play towers and a one of a kind slide directly into a giant ball pit. There are experienced staff to show the kids how to skateboard, climb or just beat the jump programmes on the interactive trampolines.

8. Co Van Kessel Bike Tours

Co Van Kessel bike tours give you the opportunity to see a part of the real Bangkok away from the concrete towers and let’s you discover a vast network of local streets, alleyways, footpaths and canals. You get to see and experience what lurks behind the modern facade and see hidden worlds giving you a picture of ‘real’ Thai life that has remained unchanged for countless decades and is largely unknown to visitors. This is a truly unique, bicycles or boat or combined tour, for those who want a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the sights, sounds and smells of Thailand. Kids bikes are available but remember to confirm their ages and proficiency levels when booking.

9. Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World

Sea Life Center and aquarium has long since been one of the most popular places to visit for families in Bangkok. Sitting in the basement of one of the most popular shopping centres, it gives you a full day experience and an escape from the cities heat. Offering a host of activities from a magical rainforest experience and a penguin ice playground complete with snow and cold breezes! One of the highlights for visitors is definitely the ocean tunnel where you can immerse yourself in the wonders of the ocean by walking along a magical path while being surrounded by sharks, rays and the occasional mermaid show. Ocean world also offers unique dive experiences for those you want to take the challenge of the ‘shark walk’ offering a unique and adventurous opportunity. Age restrictions apply.

One of the best ways to stay cool in Bangkok is in a water park and there are many to choose from. Pororo is one of the newest and has internationally trained lifeguards on duty in their resort style roof-top water slide park sitting on top of a shopping mall, offering a new and exciting water fun experience. With over 600 meters of water slide fun, including the new and awarding winning funnel slider. You can sit and relax while travelling through a 400 metre river ride or get your heart racing with the ‘Tong Tong’ magic slide, sliding over the Bangkok skyline below! There are 9 different pool zones available including a playground pool for families with younger children. Lockers, tubes, towels, drinks and various food options are available making this a fun day out for the whole family.
