For those parents whose children would benefit from an alternative approach to mainstream education, St. Andrews International School Sukhumvit 107 and Steps, an experienced provider of inclusive education, offer a unique opportunity.
Steps runs a vocational training centre onsite at St. Andrews 107, where learners can benefit from a UK-accredited educational programme tailored to their specific needs and abilities.
The Steps programme builds employability skills, life skills, and social, and communication skills which can be particularly beneficial for students unlikely to move on to traditional higher education options post-18. Students can access education at Steps St. Andrews Sukhumvit 107 from age 12 until age 21 and gain qualifications for programmes including ASDAN. Steps runs an on-site cafe as well as a snack booth within the school three times per week which is 100% trainee-led. These provide trainees with the chance to apply their skills in real-world situations.
There is also a Dual Learner programme on offer (with 17 students currently enrolled), which enables learners to attend traditional classes as well as those taught at the vocational centre. Learners from Year 8 to Year 13 are able to access the Dual Learner programme in a very individualised way.
Since the St. Andrews/Steps partnership was established two years ago, the programme has grown both in terms of numbers and work experience and internship opportunities. Steps trainees can now be found working as teaching assistants, data entry supports, baristas, and admins in the library, science labs, PE department, cafe, and drama department.
Steps was recently awarded TPQI certification, meaning our Barista and Digital Literacy programmes now offer Certificates of Professional Qualification, endorsed by the Royal Thai Government Cabinet and ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework committee.
Parents who would like to learn more can attend our Open House event on 11 October at St Andrew’s International School Sukhumvit 107. Download our flyer for further information.
