Smile Carnival 2017

Smile Carnival

Help support Operation Smile’s annual fundraiser! Held on Saturday, 1 April 2017, from 6pm to 9pm, the “Smile Carnival 2017” takes place at the main outdoor sports courtyard of the National Stadium, which is easily accessible by BTS (National Stadium station). The carnival is organised by 12 international schools across Bangkok, with students helping to plan, set up and operate various activity tents.

The entrance fee is 500 baht, which includes a free flow of food, drinks and fun games like a dunk tank and paintball. Other highlights include a “Surprise Maze” and “Fish a Smile”, as well as a lucky draw to win big prizes. Enjoy the casual evening with family and friends, soaking in all the colour and excitement of an outdoor fair!

For those interested in attending, please register at https://goo.gl/qkytx1 to facilitate entrance to the event, or call 02-075-2700 – 2.

This charity event is intended to raise funds for supporting Operation Smile Thailand to provide free, safe and life-changing surgeries to underprivileged children born with cleft lips and cleft palates. At the same time, the organisation builds public and private partnerships that advocate for sustainable healthcare systems for children and families — “Together, we create smiles, change lives, heal humanity.”

Operation Smile conducted its first mission in Thailand in 1997. An international team of medical volunteers conducted two medical missions: one in Bangkok at the King Mongkut Hospital, and the other at the regional hospital in Yasothorn province. During these missions, 172 Thai children suffering from cleft lips and/or cleft palates received free surgeries. Operation Smile Thailand was officially established in September 2001; within one year, it was financially self-sustaining.

The organisation has worked hard to promote self-sustainability by recruiting highly qualified Thai medical professionals. By doing so, Operation Smile Thailand conducts an average of 10 surgical missions per year or more than 6,000 free surgeries for children in Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. In addition, post-operative care includes speech pathology and orthodontics.

Operation Smile Thailand relies on the generosity of its supporters to change lives, one smile at a time. In addition to attending their fundraising events, please consider donating to a great cause, per the details below.
