My children love indoor play spaces and we have explored so many during our time in Bangkok and we were delighted when we finally got around to trying Playville which is conveniently located in central Sukhumvit on Soi 49.
About Playville
Playville is a beautifully decorated indoor play space located on the 2nd floor of Playscape. When you enter the door, you are met with a very sweet store where they sell gorgeous high quality clothing items for babies and young children, as well as books, wooden toys and other children items. Immediately I was impressed by the high standards of cleanliness in the centre and the advertisements for all the exciting looking activities they offer. Not only can you drop info Playville with your children, they run several different groups that you can enjoy; one that caught my attention was their themed baby playgroup.
As well as high quality wooden toys throughout, Playville has the biggest ball pit I have ever seen and it was a huge hit with my kids. In the centre of the ball pit is a large wooden play structure with slides, rope climbing frames and play house and my kids loved this area.
I had to eventually drag my children away from the ball pit so we could explore the other role play areas offered in the centre as well as an outdoor sandpit. I am always dubious of sandpits but this sandpit was filled with very clean soft sand, contained great fossils that my kids adored discovering and multiple different sand toys. The outdoor sand pit is covered so it felt really nice to be outside and it actually overlooks the dog park downstairs so we also enjoyed watching some of the puppies running around.
“Playville” offers arts and crafts activities at an additional cost and we will definitely sign up for those next time but with it being a new playground, my kids just weren’t willing to sit still! There was too much to explore!
From a sushi kitchen to a chicken coop, “Playville” offers great role play activity areas for kids to use their imaginations and play. The toys were all of a high quality and included some features I’ve never seen in other centres; the washing machine was a big hit with my youngest.
They also offer a host of small playgroups like play dough camp or messy hands camp, where kids can create keepsakes and take part in lots of arts and science based activities. They can even take a play box home with them, my kids particularly liked their Jolly play dough set and Jurassic play set which we purchased to keep in our ‘Mums emergency rainy day activity box!’
We will definitely be returning to “Playville”, even though it isn’t the biggest indoor play space around, it has lots to occupy children and my kids have already made me promise to take them back to the “biggest ball pit they have ever seen!”
Things To Consider If You Go
Playville has an area to keep strollers, a dedicated childrens bathroom and even a nursing station. The play center is up a few flights of stairs so do keep that in mind if you have a disabled child or large double stroller. The whole place was spotless and the staff were really helpful and friendly.
Socks are required, preferably non slip ones but they do sell them at the reception in case you forget. There is also a small cafe/restaurant on the ground floor as you enter which serves the best shakes and is a nice spot for lunch after the kids playtime
