Learning through play and exploration is the concept at Play Mondo and Playsquare Laser Tag. The playground and laser tag game allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength in a safe and open environment. We have visited many play centres in Bangkok and my kids rated this one of the best!
About Playmondo and Playsquare Laser Tag
Playmondo Playsquare Laser Tag are both located on the 2nd floor of Central World just behind the ice skating rink.
Playmondo is divided into 4 zones for children to explore (desert, ocean, volcano and forest) with the play features that make up these zones fostering cognitive, physical and social development. Play features include a massive ball pit with a ball shower game, three slides, rope bridges and climbing nets, obstacle course with flying fox, trampolines, air bags to jump onto and a climbing wall.
Playsquare Laser Tag next door to Playmondo is the Play Square laser tag game. Children are suited up and then released into a room for 15 minutes to play a game of tag using their laser guns. The aim is to zap your opponents with the laser tag gun and score points for your team. Parents waiting outside can watch on TV screens and see the scores.
What We Loved Most
Playmondo had a few unique play experiences that we haven’t seen at any other play centres in Bangkok. My children loved scrambling and climbing around the honeycomb net that consisted of different layers for them to hide and crawl through.
They were also enthralled by the ‘Scarf Wall’: a network of pipes that sucked up silk scarfs and, after watching them travel through the pipe maze, spat them out for the children to catch. So much fun and I’ve never seen anything like this before! There was also ‘Draw Alive’ where children could color in a drawing and scan it to then magically see it appear on the large screen in front of them.
Other Things To Do Around The Area
Just in front of Playmondo and Play Square Laser Tag is ‘The Rink’. This indoor ice skating rink provides opportunities for kids to try ice skating and they also have instructors to give lessons. TK Park -Thai Knowledge Park is located on the 8th floor of Central World. Called a living library, this gigantic 3,700-square-meter space has over 140,000 books and magazines and hosts various activities including concerts, films, talks and seminars. You can visit on a day pass or subscribe to an annual pass and is an excellent space to spend an afternoon for both children and adults with books in many languages.
Things To Consider If You Go
Playmondo has an area to keep strollers, a dedicated children’s bathroom, a small restaurant catering to children’s tastes with highchairs and a locker and shoe storage area. The whole place was spotless and very well staffed so I felt completely at ease in regards to their health safety.
Note that outside food and drink is not allowed. Socks are required -preferably non-slip ones- and are available for purchase at Play Mondo if you forget. Kids over 7 years can stay and play without a parent /guardian allowing parents to explore and shop at Central World child free! They can also arrange customised children’s birthday parties.
