When explaining science to kids a good way to start is describing it as the study of the world around us, scientists learn about their subjects by observing, describing, and experimenting. There are many subjects and branches of science you can explore and playing games using flashcards or having fun with some DIY home science experiments can make learning about science a fun experience. Try to look at the study of outer space through astronomy, sciences that study life (biology) or the earth (geology) or even matter and energy (physics) and encourage kids get curious and ask questions. For kids, the world around us is fascinating and learning about it can be fun and interesting. Much of the science we know today was discovered using the Scientific Method. The Scientific Method is a method scientists use to get accurate results from their experiments.
What kids don’t like to pretend they are a mad scientist and have fun doing their own DIY experiments!
