Something exciting is coming this November — namely, Amazing Green : A’Maze 2017 (or A’Maze for short). Initiated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), A’Maze is part of the sustainable agro-tourism movement, which helps boost the livelihood of Thai agriculturists while getting urban residents back to the great outdoors for fresh air, greenery and good old fashioned fun.
Spanning 68 rai, A’Maze takes place in Kanchanaburi. Geared for families with children ages 4 to 10, the range of activities focuses on learning through play in a wide open field, engaging with nature, and seeing and understanding where food comes from
A’Maze is comprised of seven different zones, including:
- Corn Maze
Families will have a blast getting lost in a 9-rai corn maze. They can also take in spectacular views from a skywalk and visit different activity bases that present agricultural knowledge and information about Kanchanaburi province. The latter includes various challenging games and activities; children who successfully complete every activity will take home specially-designed eco-friendly prizes. - Playground
This space is meant for pure play! Running, climbing, slide jumping, and biking are all available on the playground field. - Farm Pavilion
Visitors can learn to be an amateur farmer from professional farmers and experts. Children can try their hand at growing vegetables and learning how to take care of seedlings — plus they get to take home the plants they grew to nurture further. - Stage Talk and Shows
Parents can listen to useful experiences and thoughts about kids, family, traveling, and outdoor parenting by specialists. The relaxing atmosphere encourages the exchange of ideas, opinions, and inspirations to promote quality child rearing. - DIY Workshops
Children (and adults) can join DIY workshops to make their own crafts from agricultural products and materials at hand. In addition to expanding their imaginations, everyone will learn how to add value to crop residue and be proud of their own handiwork. - Eco-Product Exhibition
Eco-friendly products as well as products that won design contests are showcased in this area. They are made of natural materials, designed to promote child development. Come and see a wide range of creative ideas that are both nature and kid-friendly. - Local Market
Shop for agricultural products, souvenirs, and local food and beverages from Kanchanaburi.
Additionally, the venue houses a cafeteria and rest area where food, drinks, and snacks made with local ingredients by local chefs are served. (Definitely, there’ll be recommended dishes made of corn, the star of the event!) You can enjoy a variety of dishes for lunch, or have light snacks and beverages to recharge.
