6 Family-Friendly Resorts in Rayong

Around 2.5 hours by car from Bangkok, Rayong offers families an easy, chilled-out beach retreat away from the big city. Here are six family-friendly resorts worth checking out before your next visit.

1. Novotel Rayong Rim Pae Resort

Perched beside the ocean on the sandy shores of Rim Pae beach, this 4-star resort makes it easy to feel far removed from the outside world. Along with two separate pool areas set amid tropical gardens, the hotel’s sweeping grounds also include a small pool for kids. There are a number of casual beachside bars within walking distance, while the hotel itself has a pool bar and three separate dining options including a cafe, and Mediterranean and regional Thai restaurants.

2. Tamarind Garden Hotel

Tamarind Garden Hotel offers an affordable and comfortable base in Rayong’s downtown area – making it ideal if being beside the beach isn’t top of your agenda. This chic property is around 1 km from the city centre, but one of the big bonuses of staying here are the spacious, clean and super-comfy rooms – each with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. On top of fantastic service, the hotel also has its own fitness centre and an on-site restaurant.

3. Rayong Resort

With a secluded spot beside the beach of Laem Tarn Cape, Rayong Resort provides a quiet location to enjoy a relaxing family break. The kids will love splashing and playing around the landscaped pool area, while a spa, gym, table tennis and games room with darts and snooker complete the great selection of amenities. There’s also an impressive range of dining options serving Thai, European and seafood dishes. Feel like an evening of fine dining? Book tables at Cape Grill – the hotel’s speciality steak and lobster house.

4. Kantary Bay Hotel And Serviced Apartments

Perfect for an extended family break, this upscale property features a stylish range of serviced apartments that come with hotel-style amenities. With a sauna, steam rooms, Jacuzzi and swimming pool, adults have plenty of options to unwind. As for the kids? Squash courts, a karaoke room, a bowling alley and games room offer lots of options to keep them active the moment you arrive. This relaxing haven is also located right on the beach with lots of shops and nice restaurants within easy walking distance.

5. Makmai Villa

This cosy and welcoming property is situated across the street from Mae Rum Peung Beach, so you can be strolling alongside the ocean minutes after breakfast. Rooms are simple but well-kept, and the hotel has a large pool and separate kids’ pool set within tropical gardens. Alongside standard room options, Makmai Villa offers a range of bungalows ranging from 1 to 5 bedroom properties – perfect for families seeking extra space and comfort.

6. Marriott Rayong Resort & Spa

Situated on a spacious beachfront property, Marriott Rayong is geared for families who prefer to spend all their time on the resort premises. Features include large, comfortable rooms, a handful of casual restaurant options, and several swimming pools, including a large meandering pool (with water slides), a seaside pool and a dedicated children’s pool with a small playground. A well equipped kid’s club caters to a range of ages with arts and crafts, toys, video games and more. The rocky beach is private and quiet, and kayaks are available for guests at no extra charge.
