5 Great Bangkok Hotels for Families

If there’s one thing Bangkok isn’t short on, it’s a decent choice of hotels – and plenty of them do a great job catering for families. Whether you are visiting town, have guests or require a city staycation, here are 5 kid-friendly hotels that we love.

Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside

Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, this hotel’s riverside location makes a great family escape from the bustle of Bangkok. Along with its luxury wellness and spa centre, outdoor pool and sun deck, there’s a pool for the kids and a separate play area. Guests also have the pick of five international restaurants, including Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant, which serves truly delectable Hong Kong-style dim sum. Highchairs are available in each of the dining areas.  Oh, and Asiatique is practically next door!

Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa

A great option for families with young children, Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa features a fantastic pool area, tropical gardens and a kids club. Its restaurants also do a great job of catering to children, including the Italian diner, Brio, which hosts pizza classes for young wannabe chefs. There’s also a free ferry service to the opposite side of the river, so you can dine on the other side of the bank, wander around the shops or visit iconic tourist attractions, including the Grand Palace or Wat Arun.

Bliston Suwan Park View

This 4-star property is just 5 minutes from Chidlom BTS Skytrain station and offers the option of hotel rooms and serviced residences. Along with a rooftop swimming pool and tropical outdoor garden, the cute kids pool is ideal for little ones to splash around in. There’s also a large poolside children’s play area with drawing boards, dollhouses and plenty of interactive toys. A number of fun attractions are also within easy reach of this central location, including the ever-popular Kidzania and Sea Life Bangkok.

The Sukosol

The Sukosol practically rolls out the red carpet for little ones at check-in. Book a Family Room or Premier Family Room and they’ll receive their own little goodie bag on arrival, complete with a Sukee elephant, activity book, crayons, stickers and an ID card to collect stamps from around the hotel. They’ll also find a pair of mini-slippers and mini-dressing gowns waiting for them in their room. With other amenities including free access to family DVDs, bottle-warmers and baby bathtubs, The Sukosol genuinely goes out of its way to make families feel welcome.

Grande Centre Point Hotel Ratchadamri

There’s tons to tempt families into staying at this centrally located property. Highlights include the kids’ swimming pool, an indoor playground full of toys and games, and a dedicated cinema room – which comes complete with a comfy sofa, 70-inch screen and plenty of children’s DVDs. If you’d all rather catch a movie in the room, you can hire out your favourite titles for up to 3 days. And if you fancy a few hours to yourself during a stay here, you can always call upon the hotel’s babysitting service.
