Most kids love animals so treat them to lunch and an interactive animal encounter! Here are 4 places where you can go.
1. Rabbito Café – Sukhumvit Soi 101/1 near BTS Udom Suk
Fluffy bunnies make this cozy cafe a big hit with little ones. The cafe’s oh-so-cute rabbits have their own rabbit “playground”, but they’re also free to hop around as they please – don’t be surprised to find a rabbit or two hopping onto your table during lunch! The range of kid-friendly snacks and meals includes spaghetti in tomato sauce, cheesy tuna toast, and an indulgent chocolate brownie. You’ll also find rabbit-themed toys and accessories here, too.
2. Baan Nam Kiang Din – Thanon Utthayan, Khwaeng Sala Thammasop, Khet Thawi Watthana, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon
The big attraction of this family-friendly restaurant is its serene location and sprawling garden – populated by rabbits, ducks, black swans and pink flamingoes. Along with getting to meet and feed the animals, there’s a large field for the children to run and play while you relax. As for the menu? Pick from traditional Thai, Chinese and German dishes (including the speciality deep fried pork knuckle) and grab a bite for the little ones from the kid’s menu.
3. The Gardens – Sukhumvit Road, between Soi 59 & Soi 61 near BTS Thonglor & Ekamai
A lovely brunch experience, with a range of innovative Western-style dishes, awaits at this former palace, now a modern and upscale restaurant. Choose from indoor and al fresco dining zones; children would prefer the latter so that they can easily explore the tranquil gardens and pond area. Ask staff for animal food to feed the swans, fish and turtles. Also, keep an eye out for the free-roaming white peacocks and bunnies.
4. Mini-Murrah Farm – 79/4 2, Nong Baen-tha Kham Mu 5 Rd, Sip Et Sok, Ban Pho District, Chachoengsao
This small buffalo dairy farm is around a 90-minute drive east of Bangkok and makes for a great day trip out the city. Kids will love meeting the farm’s resident animals including rabbits, deer, buffalo, pigs, ducks and guinea pigs. There are also a range of kids activities (for an additional fee) including pizza and ice cream making workshops. In addition, Mini-Murrah has its own organic garden, a restaurant serving Thai and western food, and a small shop selling the farm’s very own buffalo cheese and butter.
