Wonderfruit is approaching! Rescheduled for 16 to 19 February 2017, this uniquely vibrant 4-day celebration of the arts takes place at The Fields of Siam Country Club, Pattaya. As always, the festival programming encompasses creative collaborators and contributors from all over the globe, with musical performances, holistic wellness and adventure experiences, artistic structures, gourmet eats, talks and workshops. And yes, kids are welcome! There is plenty of fun for the family at Camp Wonder, presenting a number of activities to keep the kids engaged and happy.
For instance, children can embark on a storytelling adventure with interactive tales and dramatic performances by Anna Manuel of Heads and Tales. They can join body painter Brianne Chappell to delve into the wonders of the sea, transforming themselves into weird and wonderful marine creatures; learn the basics of capoeira, an African- Brazilian cultural-martial art, with Capoeira Angola BKK; and let their artistic sides loose in a number of creative projects with artists Janneke Hoogstraaten and Hannah Theodorou. Such collaborative efforts include weaving and tangling giant coloured poles, bicycle wheels and tires to make the Chaotix art installation-playground, devising a massive mandala from found objects, and simply contributing to one big creative mess! Children can also make funky hats and masks, as well as art from natural materials such as stones, leaves, driftwood and sticks.
Other Camp Wonder activities include exploring Wonderfruit with street photographer Anthony Cheung, learning the art of capturing snapshots that tell a story; and practicing fun, meditative Rainbow Yoga with Yogi Regina Chua.
To enjoy all the above and more, Wonderfruit is offering the BKK Kids community a discount of 10% on tickets. Simple purchase your tickets online. Enter WONDERBKKKIDS in the promotional code for the discount. Children under 12 get in free, and there is a bigger discount for those who buy 10+ tickets.
Participants have the options of bringing their own tent to pitch, which is included in the price of the ticket; camping in a boutique tent (currently, only the bell tents without air conditioning are still available) or in their RV; or staying off-site in hotels in nearby Pattaya. The organisers have also provided a handy guide about what to bring. For more information, please visit www.wonderfruitfestival.com.
