International Community School is a Christian, non-profit international school founded in 1993 that is located in the Bangna area of Bangkok. The ICS student body is comprised of over 1150 students from 29 different countries. ICS utilizes an American curriculum with AP (Advanced Placement) courses in high school.
ICS maintains a tradition of quality education, and ICS students have one of the highest reported SAT average scores in Bangkok and have achieved acceptance to top colleges and universities in the US, UK, and around the world for the last several years. ICS also offers 23 AP courses, the most AP courses of any school in Thailand. Extra Curricular Activities at ICS
In addition to a large AP academic program, ICS offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities including athletics (soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country, track, badminton, swim team), art, theater, band, orchestra, and various other enrichment activities. ICS is known for its close-knit community fostered among its faculty, students, and parents. This comes from a relentless focus on care and individual attention to help each child thrive inside and outside of the classroom.

What are Advanced Placement Courses?
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are designed to bring college-level curriculum and examinations into the high school classroom to give well-prepared students an opportunity to engage in our most rigorous course offerings. College Board states that AP courses help students stand out to colleges and universities, earn college credit, and boost their GPA (https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/). Many colleges and universities worldwide use these courses as a gauge for how students will perform academically at the university level. ICS is the largest AP school in Thailand, offering 23 courses.
What is the difference between IB and AP programs?
The difference between the two curricula is more important in high school grades than in the younger grades. AP and IB both offer rigorous courses to help students prepare for university at the highest level. The IB Diploma program focuses on a standard curriculum of six interdisciplinary courses taken over the course of two years with little flexibility for student choice, focusing on a breadth of subjects. In contrast, the AP program focuses on depth of subjects, and is more flexible, allowing students to choose which classes to take, which interests to explore, and which specialized disciplines to invest in. In preparing for university, IB focuses on building broad skills for success in a university classroom, whereas AP brings the university classroom directly to the high school by offering deep, university-level content and teaching to engage the student before university entry.
ICS goes GREEN!
As a non-profit school, ICS works hard to continually improve our school facilities. Recently, we have completed a solar panel project that is environmentally friendly and helps us get to a sustainable and clean energy source! Our complete solar panel is now helping us to produce electricity from 30-45% of the energy we are using at a given time of day! Moreover, ICS continually updates classrooms and keeps the facilities in great shape! We look forward to welcoming you to our campus one day!
