Indoor Play Spaces for Kids in Bangkok

From toy-filled play areas for toddlers to adventure-packed fun zones for pre-teens, Bangkok certainly isn’t short on indoor play spaces. Here’s our guide to some of the top places worth visiting.

1. Monkey and Me Play Café

Aimed at children between 1 to 10 years old, Monkey and Me Play Café in the Rama 3 area is a padded indoor play centre fitted with climbing equipment, a large trampoline, arts and crafts activities, and a range of toys and games. Alongside a separate party room and karaoke, there’s also an on-site cafe serving soft drinks, food and sweet treats. Parents can grab a tea or coffee from the café while keeping an eye on the kids.

2. Funarium

The largest indoor playground in Bangkok, Funarium features a variety of playzones aimed at different age groups. There’s a fully padded play area for children up to 4 years old. Those aged 4 to 13 get to play in a separate multi-storey jungle gym with slides, swing ropes, a trampoline and a net bridge. If that wasn’t enough, Funarium also has a basketball/football court surrounded by a bicycle and scooter track (all equipment is provided), an outdoor sandpit, and a large arts and crafts centre. Parents can grab a coffee or some food, and get Wi-Fi access at the on-site café.

3. Kidzoona Molly Fantasy

This indoor playzone, with multiple branches scattered across Bangkok, is split into two different areas. The first, Molly Fantasy, is aimed at older children and includes coin-operated rides, arcade games, bowling, air hockey, basketball and gopher bashing. The second area, Kidzoona, is a soft play area for under 12s featuring inflatable slides, a merry go round, a giant ball pit, a climbing frame and trucks and trikes. There’s also ‘Paper Town’, a miniature town that lets children try out a range of different jobs, from running pizza and sushi shops to working at a florists, doctor’s surgery, construction site and more. Locations include Gateway Ekamai, Mega Bangna, The Mall Bangkhae, Paradise Park, The Shoppes Grand Rama 9, The Mall Ngamwongwan, Tesco Lotus Srinakarin, The Crystal PTT Store, Bee Hive Muangthong, Plus Mall Tesco Lotus Bangyai, The Walk Kaset-Nawamintra, The Sense Pinklao and The Crystal SB Ratchapruek.

4. Yoyoland

With branches in Seacon Square and Seacon Bangkhae, Yoyoland is a vast indoor play centre aimed at 3 to 12 year olds. There’s a variety of arcade games for older kids, while younger ones will love the adventure playground with games and rides, including miniature golf, a pirate ship, a Ferris wheel, a ball park and slide, and the YoYo Express train. Kids will be kept well and truly entertained until it’s time to tear them away. Admission into the ‘land’ is free, although there’s a charge for the playground and games ranging between 10 to 100 baht.

5. Playtime

Located in Ekamai, Playtime is a well-kept indoor playground for kids of all ages, especially those from 2 to 6 years old. Its multi-storied climbing frame features slides, a trampoline, a zip line, tunnels, and padded obstacles. In addition, the playspace offers a rock climbing wall, sand pit, electric car course, balloon pit, soft ball combat zone, and cooking and crafts stations. There is a separate play area for babies and toddlers, as well as a relatively tranquil foot massage room for adults. Weekends often feature a free, mid-afternoon magic show.

6. Play Station – Kidz Club

This venue, located on Rama 9, is lovely for children aged 1 to 7 years old. It offers creative activities and an indoor playground designed to suit the developmental needs of young children. The centre is divided into multiple areas: Active Station (indoor playground and toddler; Sand and Soil Station (sand pool in natural setting); Art Station (art, craft and play dough fun); Creative Station (house for imaginative play); Reading Station (bi-lingual books and encyclopedia); Edu-game Station (educational toys and games); and the Rainbow Station (little stage and food service. The setup is well organised and clean; parents can relax while children get messy and have fun enjoying the equipment.

7. Imaginia PlaylandNew!

At The Emporium, Imaginia features interactive play areas designed to engage and delight children 2 to 10 years in age. Highlights include a Time Tube Slider that lets kids zip through a lighted tube; Shadow Forest that superimposes kids’ images with various scenarios; DJ Canopy station for young DJs to work on their mixsets; the Imaginia Town Hall with a 180-degree curved screen for story-telling; and the Dream Jungle and Dragon Cave, a huge net with built-in curves and obstacles, as well as a slide and trampolines, that serves as a climbing structure. Also, kids can play with construction toys or do some crafts or colouring. A quiet Book Cave is stocked with Thai and English children’s titles, while an on-site cafe serves a variety of snacks and drinks.

8. Blue Monkey – New!

Located in the Putthamonton area, this very large indoor playground offers a day of fun for kids, from toddlers to older children. Upstairs is a faux town set-up for pretend play, while downstairs is a soft play area for young children, an interactive floor game (with lights) behind the stage, and a large climbing frame with slides, a ball pit, climbing nets, swings, a trampoline and padded obstacles. There are also cars for hire to drive around a small enclosed track, and kids can do various arts and crafts in a dedicated space.

9. KiZventure Park – New!

KizVenture Park is a great and safe place for toddlers and children to play in the Ratchapruek area. The setup is relatively large, and it includes a small Cruzee strider bike track with helmets available; an electric car course that allows kids to ride around and under the playing frame; and interactive light/musical mini golf with a jungle theme, which takes up a third of the building. There is also a fenced-off basketball area; and standard climbing frames with obstacles, ropes, big balls to manoeuvre around, a shooting range with foam balls, mini flying fox, and lots of slides. The highlight is the tube slide, where children carry the tubes to the top (either by themselves or with the help of staff) and sit inside. The tubes fly down the slide and come to a safe and steady stop at the bottom – fun!
