When the mercury rises and you need to drag the kids away from their various screens, why not beat the heat at one of Bangkok’s water parks or water sports venues. Bangkok has some great action packed water parks and wake board parks, there’s even a simulated surf pool where you can try your hand at surfing in the centre of the city! There are many water parks within easy reach of Bangkok city so unless you want to head further south to Hua Hin, check out our list of recommended places to spend the day having fun with the family.
Columbia Pictures Aquaverse
Located 20 minutes from Pattaya and 90 minutes from Bangkok, Columbia Pictures opened the first theme and waterpark in Thailand, “Columbia Pictures Aquaverse.” Offering rides and attractions, Aquaverse is a unique entertainment destination in Thailand for visitors from around the world featuring state-of-the-art rides and newly themed attractions.
Dream World Water Fun
Kids will love the water play area which has many rides, including Slider and Tunnel Fountain.
Dream World is a large and well-kept amusement park in Patum Thani province, less than an hour’s drive from central Bangkok in moderate traffic. The park is divided into several zones, including Dream World Plaza, Dream Gardens, Fantasy Land and Adventure Land – each with specific groups of rides, attractions and activities.
Fantasia Lagoon : The Mall Shopping Center
With branches at The Mall Ngamwongwan, Bang Khae and Bang Kapi, Fantasia Lagoon provides hours of swimming, splashing and sliding fun. In addition to shallow pools and water playgrounds for the little ones, the park offers large slides, whirlpools and a lazy river. Fantasia Lagoon parks are situated on the top floor of the malls, featuring expansive city views from atop the tallest slides.
Flow House Bangkok
In central Sukhumvit, Flow House Bangkok is an easy escape from the city heat. Older kids will love the adrenaline rush they get from the FlowRider, a simulated wave surfing machine. Equipment and instructors are on-hand for flowboarders of all levels. The facilities also include a plunge pool, bar and restaurant.
Pororo Aquapark BKK
Pororo Aquapark is located at Central Plaza Bangna’s fully renovated and fully themed roof-top waterslide park. With over 10,000 square metres of waterpark fun, conveniently located on the 6th floor of CentralPlaza, Bangna. You can try waterslide fun on their award winning ‘Pororo’s Funnel’ slider, relax in the 400 metre river ride or get your heart racing with the ‘Tong Tong’s Magic Slide’, sliding over the Bangkok skyline below! With nine different pool zones available, there is something for everyone to enjoy and they even have a ‘playground’ pool especially designed for younger kids. International standard trained Lifeguards are on duty throughout the park and lockers, towels, tubes and more are available for your convenience.
Siam Amazing Park
Take a day trip to Siam Amazing Park or as it used to be known as Siam Park City on the outskirts of Bangkok. In operation for over three decades, Siam Park is the city’s most famous recreational water park, featuring swimming pools, towering waterslides and a huge simulated wave pool. Saimai Water Park
Saimai Water Park is situated in Saimai district of Bangkok so expect a more local experience. However, the park has just upgraded their equipment such as, floating climbing challenges, numerous slides, tunnels and many more opportunities for a fun family day out. The highlight of this park is definitely the fun foam parties that are hosted every day and has the added bonus of being able to bring your own food inside the park to create your own picnics.
Taco Lake Cable Wake Park
Located near Suvarnabhumi Airport, the freshwater Taco Lake Cable Wake Park offers wakeboarding, wakeskating, kneeboarding and waterskiing, utilizing a four-cornered pulley system. It’s a fantastic place for beginner and expert riders to cool off from the heat. All safety and sporting equipment are provided, food is available on the premises, and you can opt to stay overnight at an inexpensive on-site hotel.
Thai Wake Park
Less than an hour away from the city centre, Thai Wake Park in Lumlukka, Pathum Thani, features bigger jumps and ramps, compared to Taco Lake. These may seem more intimidating for novices, but the park’s five-cornered pulley system actually makes turns less harsh. Thai Wake Park offers safety and sporting equipment, private coaches, a restaurant and café, and on-site accommodations.
Nong Bon Lake Water Sports Centre
Behind Seacon Square shopping mall and next to Suan Luang Rama IX Park, Nong Bon Lake Water Sports Centre provides facilities and equipment for recreational windsurfing, sailing and kayaking on a man-made reservoir. Run by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the centre offers inexpensive annual memberships; bring two pictures and your passport or Thai ID card to sign up.
Vana Nava Water Jungle
