The first few weeks and months of being a new parent can feel like a blur. Alongside the sleepless nights, having a newborn comes with a seemingly endless shopping list. How could one little baby need so much stuff?
To help you plan ahead, we’ve put together a list of e-commerce sites (both budget and high-end options) that specialise in baby products and offer overseas shipping.
Baby Essentials
On a budget: As the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon offer incredible choice and plenty of great deals for practically every baby essential imaginable. In particular, Amazon’s ‘baby wish list’ is perfect for parents. In addition to receiving tips and product recommendations, your wish list can be shared with friends and family so they can make their own suggestions and contributions. Locally, personal care products, diapers, formula and more can be ordered online from retailers like Tesco Lotus and Big C, among others. The Happy Fresh and Honest Bee apps make it easy to buy from multiple stores and they handle the delivery.
Money to spend: From swaddles and clothing, to bath time and bedtime, Aden and Anais has everything a new parent could want. Their minimalist range is decidedly upmarket and undeniably gorgeous. We think their stylish Mickey Mouse-themed range of muslins, swaddles, blankets and bandanas is particularly adorable. Alternatively, Bamboobubs, based in Bangkok, sells a range of bamboo baby essentials that are super soft and lightweight, making them breathable, comfortable and cool to wear. The designs offer a cute, gender-neutral collection of baby essentials, including clothing, swaddles, beanies and doudous.
Prams and pushchairs
On a budget: Nordic-based Babyshop.com feature an array of products especially for babies, including an impressive selection of budget-friendly strollers. You’ll find everything from sit strollers and combo strollers to double strollers and umbrella strollers. We especially like their extensive array of stroller accessories, including cup holders, sun canopies, travel bags, and snug-looking ‘footmuffs’ (ideal for wrapping up your little cherub when travelling to cooler climates!).
Money to spend: Unlike e-commerce sites that sell an extensive range of baby products, Bugaboo specialise in prams and pushchairs. As you might expect from a premium brand, their products are stylish and beautiful to look at, but they’re also built to last. While being sturdy and robust, Bugaboo’s prams and pushchairs are also lightweight and compact — making them perfect for loading into your car and darting on and off the BTS.
Clothing
On a budget: If you’re looking for great deals on baby clothes, be sure to check out Carters. With a seriously impressive product range, discounted prices, and big savings during clearance sales, this online retailer is a go-to option for anyone on a budget. Their site is also incredibly easy to browse, and includes a heart icon that you can click to save favourite products for future shopping.
Money to spend: The oh-so-cute collections of clothes at Tea Collection are totally adorable. Their contemporary and hand-picked range is globally inspired, with lots of unique designs that fit in with this brands desire to offer “something for every little citizen of the world.” In addition, every Tea Collection purchase gives back to The Global Fund for Children, so you get to do your bit for a good cause! Bangkok-based retailer Nick & Nishka also curates a collection of cool baby and kids apparel, accessories and gifts, including fun onesie designs. Other offers include organic cotton and bamboo clothing.
